Hand-crafted Pinot Noir, Rosé, and Chardonnay produced in extremely small quantities.

With grapes sourced from the best vineyards, Ryan Cochrane Wines produces food-friendly, structured wines that reflect the sites from which they originated. Most importantly, they create wines that will make people smile, wines to share with friends, and wines to enjoy with love and laughter.

Winemaker Ryan Cochrane had always dreamed about making wine. In 2009, after his day to day work in advertising had soured and grown turbulent, he decided to stop dreaming and finally dive into the world of winemaking. One foggy July morning, he contacted Roger Nicolas of RN Estate in Paso Robles looking for an opportunity as a winemaking intern. He was enamored with Rogers elegant, beautiful wines and equally enamored with his “Do Everything Yourself” approach to the wine business. Following Roger through the 2009 harvest, Ryan helped shepard the fruit from vineyard, through fermentation and into barrel.

In 2010, he came back to RN Estate, and made his inaugural wine, a barrel of Pinot Noir from the Sta. Rita Hills. With each vintage Ryan’s production and portfolio grew to include new vineyards and varieties.

Tripling production in 2011 and adding Chardonnay to the lineup in 2013, Ryan Cochrane Wines continues working with famed Santa Barbara County vineyards to this day.

After a long fought battle with cancer, Ryan passed away right after shepherding the 2018 harvest through fermentation and into barrel. Ryan’s family finished the 2018 vintage, knowing that to Ryan, it was one of his best. Ryan’s family continues producing Pinot Noir, Rosé, and Chardonnay for Ryan Cochrane Wines, keeping Ryan’s spirit in the process from grape to bottle.
